First, I want to say that you are amazing! I have been following you just for the past year and I have shared you with all my friends. I’ll tell you a little about myself. I’m a college student finishing up my first year…yeah But, I’m so upset with myself. I’ve been trying for over 3 months to lose weight for the summer and I’ve only lost 5 pounds! It seems it takes so long to lose weight and no matter what I try, or what I do, the scale stays stuck! I read that you lost over 80 pounds and you have a lady that you helped lose over 100 pounds! Don’t get frustrated! I totally understand how you feel!! When I was in college and teaching fitness classes, I was trying to lose weight, but I found that I would often cheat on French fries after class and other fun foods, but not always. Basically, I thought I was eating healthy. Yet, I too was having trouble losing weight. When I fainted one day and went to the doctor to find out why my doctor was highly upset! He said I fainted because my blood sugar was sky high! He said, if I didn’t change my diet, I would become a type 2 diabetic! OMG! He held up a syringe and said I would be taking an insulin shoot for the rest of my life and would turn into a pharmaceutical drug addict if I didn’t make a change!!! It seems my diet wasn’t as healthy as I thought it was. I’m so glad he scared the living daylight out of me because it was what I needed to make the changes I now teach others. I’ll share with you 7 proven ways you can speed up your weight loss results. These tips helped me, I teach them to all my clients, and I’ve shared them in other newsletters. The Obvious – Double-Check Your Water Intake – Radical Water For Radical Weight Loss

I know most of us to say we drink a lot of water, but if you are working out daily or at least 5-6 times a week, the days you workout, you need to drink at least ½ your body weight in ounces daily and more on days you workout. To radically change your body with water, I recommend you use an infuser water bottle. The reason why is this: When dieting, we have to eat fewer calories. This means we are not getting all the nutrients we need daily. Many people are not losing weight because their body thinks it’s starving if they are missing phytochemicals, antioxidants, and enzymes that come from fruit and vegetables. The RDA recommends Americans get at least 7-9 vegetable and fruit servings daily! That’s a lot! But if you ate that much you may not lose as much weight. Drinking fruit and veggie-infused water will help your body get extra phytonutrients, antioxidants, and enzymes vital to your health and for weight loss. You will notice a big difference by making this change.

Mix Up Your Workouts

 Many people focus more on workouts like HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training). This is good and I wouldn’t dump it, but these workouts suck the muscle from your body like a vacuum cleaner! This is because most people are not getting enough protein in their diet. I know so many women who are not seeing a difference in their bodies by doing this type of workouts. But some are. This works ONLY if you are getting the right amount of protein. Focus on cardio of course, but also do weight training. Weight training is very important. It increases your metabolism. You want ½ your time to be devoted to cardio and the other ½ to weight training. Mix up your workouts. Work out on the treadmill, the Stairmaster, the elliptical, AND take a HIIT class or two. Stretch with yoga and dance so your muscles become lean and long and not short and stubby.

Take A 1 Week On, 1 Week Off Of Starchy Carbohydrates

Some people can’t tolerate a lot of starchy carbohydrates. The reason why is because it takes so much energy for your body to burn starchy carbohydrates like bread, potatoes, rice, and higher sugar fruits like bananas. Even healthier choices like quinoa need to be limited. In addition, forget high carbohydrate energy bars. If you need a bar after a workout, eat the high protein, low calorie almost zero carbohydrate sugar type. When you do eat starchy carbohydrates, limit them to only 1 serving daily. Do this on-off eating for a while which will result in a form of jump-start and you will see changes.

Food Timing

 Eating breakfast is very important! I know there is a lot being written about intermittent fasting that is helping people lose weight. It can have a backfiring effect. For example, if you are only eating within a certain window of time, you may not be able to get enough protein in your day. What may help better is to not eat after 7 pm, not even a snack. With this method, you are not slowing down your metabolism by reducing protein needs and you still get to reap the benefits of intermittent fasting.

Get In Enough Protein

 You must eat a certain amount of protein. It helps with so many things! It helps keep your appetite in check, it helps to keep your skin tight as you reduce weight so you won’t have tons of loose skin. It helps with brain cognitive functions, and with fat burning. If you are a vegan or vegetarian, it doesn’t matter. You still need it. But, the good things are you can get protein in your diet through a plant or whey protein shakes. They help you stay full, help you reduce the need for starchy carbohydrates, you will lose weight faster, and you stay within your calorie limits without giving up nutrients.
