If you suffer from crepey skin, know that you are not alone. There are many causes such as genetics, diet, lifestyle, weight loss, illness, and more. One of the main causes is sun damage from excessive sun exposure. When I lost over 60 pounds, I suffered from crepey skin and tons of stretch marks on my body. Since I model and I’m a fitness expert, having crepey skin was not an option for me. I spent thousands of dollars in search of a crepey skin remedy. Some creams and treatments worked, but most products had tons of fillers and chemicals and an expensive price tag. How long will it take to reverse your crepey skin? 7 Tips on How To Get Rid Of Crepe Skin
1. Reduce the consumption of processed foods. Examples include donuts, muffins, candy bars, ice cream and even whole grains like bread, pasta, and rice are all dehydrating. This is because to break down sugar, the body uses a lot of water. It’s not like you have to give up everything, but you want to cut back if you haven’t done so already.
2 Reduce Alcohol. Alcohol can dehydrate your skin. If you do choose to have alcohol, make sure you drink a cup or two of water for each drink. In addition, it’s important to hydrate your body with fresh water daily. Drink at least 64 ounces of water a day and you will see a great improvement in your skin.
3. Eat More Vegetable & Fruit. Many people don’t eat enough fruits and vegetables daily. They eat more starchy carbs. For example, the RDA recommends 7-9 servings of vegetables and fruits daily. A serving is a cup. Are you eating this much daily? Why do you need them? Because they are the only foods that have healing properties (besides protein). They are loaded with antioxidants. Antioxidants fight invaders that want to destroy your skin and body.
4. Eat Skin Tightening Fats
A really enjoyable crepe skin remedy that tastes good is making sure you get enough healthy fat. Your body needs fat. But not the bad kind. The bad kind of fat comes from processed vegetables and man-made synthetic oils like trans fats, hydrogenated oil, saturated oils, palm oils, etc. They are found in most junk and processed foods. Don’t think that if you don’t eat at fast food joints you are not eating bad fat. Most restaurants use bad fat as well and cheaper ingredients so they can make a profit and you can enjoy larger portions.
5. Include Strength Training Exercises
Strength training is another crepe skin remedy. Strength training exercises are what keeps my skin super tight! Strength training speeds up new cell growth and helps your body make more collagen. It helps to tighten your skin, along with providing you with tons of energy. If you are not including strength training exercises in your regime, you need to start today. It’s doesn’t have to be in a gym. Using a resistant band or light 1-2 pounds weights when you walk is a great way to start.
6. Do Skin Tightening Facial Exercises
A client of mine told me his mother passed away at 95 and had ZERO WRINKLES!!! Why, because she did facial exercises all her life. Is it too late if you start today? No! It’s never too late. Everything counts in healthy living. This may be the most amazing crepe skin remedy of all!
7. Eat Foods With Phytonutrients
As mentioned earlier, it is important to eat foods with phytonutrients or antioxidants. These foods include leafy green veggies and fruits and are a great crepe skin remedy. But you can also get phytonutrients and antioxidants by taking supplements like Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, and Vitamin D. Green tea is an excellent source of antioxidants and phytonutrients. If you are caffeine-sensitive, drink decaffeinated green tea instead. 1-3 cups daily will provide you with added toxin protection and fat-burning if you need to lose a few pounds. These remedies are foundational, but they will not get rid of creepy skin entirely. It takes adding skincare products scientifically proven to work.
