Bye-Bye Dark Spots!
5 Ways To Treat Hyperpigmentation So It Never Comes Back!
One minute you have amazing skin and it seems like the next you have an explosive emergence of dark spots and uneven skin coloration! What are you to do? Don’t panic! Just know that you are not the only one in this predicament. Even the gorgeous Jennifer Aniston deals with dark spots on a continual basis. Luckily, there are solutions to help get your skin back to it’s beautiful glowing radiance. Let’s explore 5 ways to treat hyperpigmentation so it never comes back! First, let’s examine what is hyperpigmentation.
What is Hyperpigmentation?
Hyperpigmentation is a common, usually harmless condition in which patches of skin become darker in color than the normal surrounding skin. This darkening occurs when an excess of melanin, the brown pigment that produces normal skin color, forms deposits in the skin.
What Causes Hyperpigmentation?
The most common cause is sun damage. Brown spots from sun damage usually appear on areas of the skin that are naturally exposed to the sun, such as the face and the back of the neck and arms. They can cause existing brown spots to darken or cause new ones. This skin condition is called melasma. If you are suffering from these frustrating conditions, here are a few solutions.
5 Ways To Treat Hyperpigmentation So It Never Comes Back!
Microdermabrasion is a non-chemical, non-invasive physical exfoliating procedure. It’s traditionally performed with a handheld device that gently removes the top layer of the skin. This process helps speed up cell turnover and reveals healthy, youthful skin. The handheld microdermabrasion wand or device uses superfine crystals that physically slough away dead skin cells while light suction is applied to immediately vacuum up the dull cells and crystals. A licensed skin care professional will lightly rub the device over the skin, retracing the problem areas several times. The amount of pressure used depends on your skin type and the esthetician. Microdermabrasion can work wonders, especially on those with resistive skin, because it uses pressure and a physical ablative material. When this treatment is performed in a series it can provide even greater results.
Fractional Laser Resurfacing
Fractional Laser therapy essentially vaporizes the uppermost layer of the skin and delivers an intense light beam over the targeted areas of your skin. The treatment generally requires anesthesia or sedation. After an ablative laser treatment, you will need considerable downtime to give your skin a chance to recover. Ablative laser therapy is considered an outpatient surgical procedure. The reason why fractional laser therapy works is because when vaporizing the outer layer of the skin it stimulates collagen production, and the skin restructures itself as it heals. Fractional laser restructuring can get rid of unwanted lesions, smooth out acne scars and correct irregular pigmentation – The cost of microdermabrasion ranges from $75.00 – $200.00 a session and several sessions are usually required.
Chemical peels remove the upper layers of dead skin helping to reduce the dull appearance of the skin so that it reflects light better and appears to glow. Over time, these treatments can stimulate collagen production, enhance cellular turnover, and reduce the appearance of dark spots. Your clinical professional will know just the right peel for your skin condition and severity of your problem Some chemical peels can be too powerful, which can burn the skin. Common active ingredients in pro-grade peels include glycolic, mandelic, salicylic, and lactic acids, along with trichloroacetic acid. There are DIY peels available and are not as strong for they are more likely to slough off dead skin rather than lighten dark spots. The final cost of your procedure will depend on the type of peel you want, the condition of your skin, and other factors unique to your case – Light chemical peels can cost as low as $150, while deep chemical peels are generally the most expensive, as much as $6000.
IPL – Intense Pulse Light
Intense Pulse Light involves light-based energy pulsed onto the skin while simultaneously targeting blood vessels. The light seeks out the discoloration in the skin to lift it up and out. Expect for the treated areas to turn dark and flake off in a few days. The cost varies by where you live, the office you go to, and the size of the area being treated. – A full face laser resurfacing cost ranges from $900 to about $1400. A full face plus eyelid should run approximately $1400 to $1900. And a full face with neck and chest will be $1500 to$1900.
Performed using a medical-grade, stainless steel roller covered with hundreds of tiny spikes, the tool creates a series of micro-injuries in effort to rebuild the skin collagen production along with elasticity. While many at-home versions exist, it is recommend to have your physician control the level of strength – On average the cost can be anywhere from $100 to $700 per session, and it is recommended that you undergo 4 to 6 treatments depending on the skin condition and your age. Microneedling cost also differs based on the extent of the treatment

with this moisturizer product. In a couple of months I will turn 42, yet I always receive shocked looks from people when they find out my age. People usually guess my age is in the late 20s!! I use this morning and night so there is no need for a separate day and night cream. I will continue to order this product as long as amazon carries it. The company also sent me an email making sure I was satisfied with the product. I really appreciate that.
